GLEANINGS from the Daily Office – When Disobedience Seems to Be OK!
GLEANINGS (from the Daily Office) – When Disobedience Seems to Be OK ! – Year One, Proper 22, Friday, October 10, 2015, Matthew 9:27-34
“But they went away and spread his fame through all the district.”
Who wouldn’t be excited? A moment ago these two men were blind. Now they see. The excitement would be hard to contain.
Still, Jesus said tell no one. And Jesus said it sternly.
Regardless, they took off giving him credit and never looked back. When the credit, the honor and glory, go to the right place, the right person, apparently disobedience is ok. How much more should we point to him when he hasn’t said not to?
I had a great reunion with a fraternity brother today. I loved hearing him talk of his family, especially his children. We have seen each other a few times over the years but had no conversations like this. I feel like the table is set for more. Blessed. To God be the glory!
Blessed today? Tell someone! And give Jesus credit.
–Frodo: “I wish none of this had happened.” Gandalf: “So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”–
